What The Hecc's Story
No Longer A Victim.
Rebirth As A Warrior.
Founded in 2012, What The HECC began with Jae Byrd Wells’ handmade jewelry, soap called Author’s Soap, and her homemade tea jelly. In 2014, the company expanded with the release of Jae’s book, inspiring those dealing with PTSD to heal, grow, and strengthen family bonds.
In 2015, the company grew further, venturing into comic cons, TV appearances, and radio shows, establishing a strong presence in entertainment and media. By 2023, Jae began her journey into acting, broadening the company’s scope even more.
Looking ahead to 2024, Jae will debut her own mafia short films, showcasing her expanding talents as a scriptwriter and filmmaker. As of 2025, What The HECC is a multifaceted platform that embraces a creative vision spanning science fiction, poetry, inspiration, art, mythic themes, mafia films, and beyond.
Our clothing line features inspiring designs, gaming elements, and logos that reflect our core values. We emphasize the transformative power of personal choice in mental health, guided by HUMILITY, EVALUATE, CHOICE, and COMMITMENT.
We foster a strong community support system, connecting individuals through shared values and creative expression. Our goal is to someday expand into a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families affected by cancer, trauma, and loss—helping them find hope and healing.
